Bernard “Ben” Velivis, 93, of Hamilton
Bernard “Ben” Velivis, 93, of Hamilton passed away on Friday, September 14, 2018, peacefully, at home.
Born and raised in Trenton, Ben was a 1943 Graduate of Trenton High School. After graduation, Ben enlisted in the U.S. Marines, where he served until being honorably discharged in 1946. Ben returned to Trenton and opened his own service station. He ran his business and drove a taxi in Trenton for several years. Ben retired in the early 80’s from the Princeton Plasma Physics Lab, Princeton, after 30 years of faithful employment as an electronic engineer. While at PPL, he volunteered with the companies’ fire and rescue response unit and also volunteered at the St. Francis Hospital emergency room. Ben was a licensed private pilot and a former member of the Hamilton Elks and the Hamilton and Ewing Senior Centers.
Son of the late Carl and Mary Velivis and husband of the late Betty J. Velivis, he is survived by his daughter Donna J. Miller of Lawrenceville, his son and daughter-in-law Bernard K. Velivis and wife Elsa Galvez of New Hampshire, his granddaughters Jami Rios and fiancé Harry Ares of Hamilton and Jessica Velivis of California, his great-grandchildren Selena and Samuel Rios and his sister Anna McNally of Hamilton.
Funeral service will be on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at 11 AM at Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Ave., Hamilton (www.KingstonandKemp. com).
Entombment with military honors will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.
Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
