Bernard “Ben” Ve­livis, 93, of Hamil­ton

Bernard “Ben” Ve­livis, 93, of Hamil­ton passed away on Fri­day, Septem­ber 14, 2018, peace­fully, at home.

Born and raised in Tren­ton, Ben was a 1943 Grad­u­ate of Tren­ton High School. Af­ter grad­u­a­tion, Ben en­listed in the U.S. Marines, where he served un­til be­ing hon­or­ably dis­charged in 1946. Ben re­turned to Tren­ton and opened his own ser­vice sta­tion. He ran his busi­ness and drove a taxi in Tren­ton for sev­eral years. Ben re­tired in the early 80’s from the Prince­ton Plasma Physics Lab, Prince­ton, af­ter 30 years of faith­ful em­ploy­ment as an elec­tronic en­gi­neer. While at PPL, he vol­un­teered with the com­pa­nies’ fire and res­cue re­sponse unit and also vol­un­teered at the St. Fran­cis Hospi­tal emer­gency room. Ben was a li­censed pri­vate pi­lot and a for­mer mem­ber of the Hamil­ton Elks and the Hamil­ton and Ewing Se­nior Cen­ters.

Son of the late Carl and Mary Ve­livis and hus­band of the late Betty J. Ve­livis, he is sur­vived by his daugh­ter Donna J. Miller of Lawrenceville, his son and daugh­ter-in-law Bernard K. Ve­livis and wife Elsa Galvez of New Hamp­shire, his grand­daugh­ters Jami Rios and fi­ancé Harry Ares of Hamil­ton and Jes­sica Ve­livis of California, his great-grand­chil­dren Se­lena and Sa­muel Rios and his sis­ter Anna McNally of Hamil­ton.

Fu­neral ser­vice will be on Wed­nes­day, Septem­ber 19, 2018, at 11 AM at Kingston & Kemp Fu­neral Home, 260 White Horse Ave., Hamil­ton (www.Kingsto­nandKemp. com).

En­tomb­ment with mil­i­tary hon­ors will fol­low at Green­wood Ceme­tery, Hamil­ton.

Rel­a­tives and friends may call on Tues­day from 6 to 8 PM at the fu­neral home.
