Bertha Mae Man­ning, 90, de­parted this life on Sun­day, Novem­ber 4, 2018 at Cap­i­tal Health Med­i­cal Cen­ter in Hopewell, NJ. Born in Tren­ton, NJ, to the late Alexan­der and Sarah Smith Han­non, she was a life­long res­i­dent of Tren­ton and grad­u­ate of Tren­ton Cen­tral High School. Bertha re­tired from Tren­ton Psy­chi­atric Hospi­tal after more than 25 years of ser­vice as a nurs­ing as­sis­tant. She was a faith­ful, life­long mem­ber of Friend­ship Bap­tist Church, where she served on many aux­il­iaries, in­clud­ing the Me­mo­rial Min­istry. Bertha was a lov­ing wife, mother, moth­erin-law, sis­ter, aunt, grand­mother, friend and neigh­bor. Pre­de­ceased by her hus­band, Lacey Man­ning; par­ents; 3 sons, James Wal­ter, Ron­ald Lee and Thomas Wes­ley Man­ning; and most re­cently, her grand­son, Jab­bar “Buck­shot” Man­ning; daugh­terin-law, Robin Man­ning; 4 broth­ers, Alec, Henry “Gus”, Leo and Jerome Han­non; 3 sis­ters, Cora Sel­man, Mag­da­lene Smith and Ma­bel McKnight. She leave to cher­ish her mem­o­ries: her lov­ing daugh­ter, Jessie Robin­son and de­voted son-in-law, Cur­tis Robin­son; 7 grand­chil­dren, Tonya But­ler, Ebony Kelly, Lu­cre­tia Clark, Corey Tal­ley, Ra­heem Clark, Hat­tie Wil­son, Ron­nesha Man­ning; 16 great-grand­chil­dren; 5 sis­ters-in-law, Chris­tine Ma­son, Pene­lope Han­non, An­nie R. Emanuel, Mar­garette Ross and Gla­dys Hen­drix and a host of nieces, neph­ews, cousins, other rel­a­tives and friends, in­clud­ing a spe­cial care­giver, Mar­ion McKin­ney. Fu­neral ser­vices will be Mon­day, Novem­ber 12, 2018 at 11 am at Friend­ship Bap­tist Church, 111 Perry Street, Tren­ton, NJ. The view­ing be­gins at 9am. Ar­range­ments by An­der­son Fu­neral Ser­vice.
