Learn about other coun­tries — in­clud­ing kid-friendly na­tive crafts — Satur­day at the In­ter­na­tional Chil­dren’s Fes­ti­val hosted by Merid­ian In­ter­na­tional Cen­ter. This is the place to be if you have an up­com­ing so­cial stud­ies pa­per on a for­eign land.

Six­teen em­bassies will have booths at the fes­ti­val: Aus­tralia, Brazil, China, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Fin­land, France, Ghana, In­done­sia, Korea, Le­banon, Liecht­en­stein, The Nether­lands, Sri Lanka, Turkey and Sene­gal.

Hands-on ac­tiv­i­ties in­clude stamp-mak­ing (from Liecht­en­stein), pa­per-cut­ting (China) and writ­ing in Sin­halese (a lan­guage spo­ken in Sri Lanka).

The ac­tiv­i­ties are geared to el­e­men­tary-school stu­dents. The fes­ti­val runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and costs $5 per per­son. For more in­for­ma­tion: 202-939-5514.
