Wayward Lab difficult to collar in Arlington

The Washington Post Sunday - - METRO -

The owners of a 3-year-old female Labrador retriever called the Animal Welfare League of Arlington to report that the dog, which they had recently acquired, was missing. Within an hour, a group of witnesses saw the Lab disrupting traffic at South George Mason and Four Mile Run drives. It was captured, then taken in a vehicle to the league’s shelter by a member of the group. As the Lab was being taken out of the vehicle at the shelter, the dog broke loose and ran onto South Arlington Mill Drive. Shelter personnel captured it. The owners said they had lost the dog after it had backed out of its collar while being walked.
