St. Louis would be the third team in league his­tory to win a di­vi­sion at 8-8, while Seat­tle would be­come the first team — other than dur­ing the 1982 strike-short­ened sea­son — to make the play­offs with a los­ing record. Rams RB Steven Jack­son has not topped 100 yards rush­ing in 12 ca­reer games against Seat­tle. The Sea­hawks are plan­ning to start Char­lie White­hurst at quar­ter­back af­terMatt Has­sel­beck ag­gra­vated a hip in­jury last week against Tampa Bay. How­ever, Seat­tle is leav­ing open the pos­si­bil­ity that Has­sel­beck could play. SMARTER STATS: One hid­den fac­tor for the Rams in this win­ner­take-all matchup could be wide­out/re­turner Danny Amen­dola, who leads the NFL with 2,283 all-pur­pose yards and has be­come per­haps the most ef­fec­tive third-down re­ceiver in the game. He’s av­er­ag­ing 10.3 yards per catch on third down and 8.2 over­all.
