SMARTER STATS: Get­ting Reg­gie Bush and Pierre Thomas back in the game, and adding Chris Ivory to the mix, has made the Saints a more dan­ger­ous rush­ing team. Ivory has the sec­ond-most rush­ing yards among rook­ies, Thomas is a dy­na­mite blocker and Bush is the ul­ti­mate zone-buster. The Saints ranked 25th in rush­ing ef­fi­ciency in the sea­son’s first half; they rank sixth ever since.

1 p.m., WTTG-5, Saints by 7 Tampa Bay can earn a play­off berth with a win and losses by the Giants and Pack­ers. Bucs rookie RB LeGar­rette Blount rushed for a ca­reer-high 164 yards last week, his sec­ond straight game with more than 100 yards rush­ing. Blount leads NFL rook­ies with 941 yards rush­ing. New Or­leans clinched a play­off spot with a win over At­lanta last week and can win the NFC South with a win and an At­lanta loss. QB Drew Brees has 426 com­ple­tions, his NFLrecord third 400-com­ple­tion sea­son.
