School Board member seriously ill
D.C. State Board of Education member William Lockridge is on life support at George Washington University Hospital, according to a family spokeswoman.
Lockridge, 63, a veteran community activist who represents Ward 8 on the board, fell ill at his Southeast home Friday afternoon and was rushed to the hospital. The spokeswoman, Natalie Williams, said family and friends are asking for the community’s prayers.
His wife, Wanda Lockridge, reached at the hospital, said: “I am just praying and doing the best I can. He is still in a coma.”
