Hite said that Darrell S. Pressley, the chief communications officer, and Tanzi West Barbour, the public information officer, are no longer working in the communications office. Hite did not provide a reason, citing personnel restrictions. Pressley had been in the position for less than a year. Neither he nor Barbour responded to phone messages.
On Jan. 12, the school system accidentally robocalled parents at 4:30 a.m. with snow-day news. The call angered a Fort Washington parent, who then paid an online company to robocall school officials and board members the next morning. At the time, Pressley said “ the wrong time” was set for the call, a mistake he said would not happen again.
