The Washington Post Sunday - - COMMUTER - — Jenna Johnson

John Kelly is off. His column will resume when he returns. system has been criticized by parents, teachers and others for poorly relaying information.

Hite said that Darrell S. Pressley, the chief communications officer, and Tanzi West Barbour, the public information officer, are no longer working in the communications office. Hite did not provide a reason, citing personnel restrictions. Pressley had been in the position for less than a year. Neither he nor Barbour responded to phone messages.

On Jan. 12, the school system accidentally robocalled parents at 4:30 a.m. with snow-day news. The call angered a Fort Washington parent, who then paid an online company to robocall school officials and board members the next morning. At the time, Pressley said “ the wrong time” was set for the call, a mistake he said would not happen again.
