Christo­pher D. Miles, 55, a painter who with his broth­ers owned Miles Broth­ers Paint­ing in Gaithers­burg since 1977, died Jan. 4 at his home in Gaithers­burg af­ter a heart at­tack.

Christo­pher David Miles was born in Cam­den, N. J., and moved to Gaithers­burg in 1960. He was a 1974 grad­u­ate of Gaithers­burg High School.

He was a mem­ber of the North­ern Vir­ginia and An­napo­lis chap­ters of the Paint­ing and Dec­o­rat­ing Contractors of Amer­ica.

In the early 1970s, he com­peted in re­gional judo tour­na­ments. He also was an avid fish­er­man.

Sur­vivors in­clude his mother, Geral­dine Miles of Gaithers­burg; and two broth­ers, Wyn­d­ham Miles Jr. of Gaithers­burg and Scott Miles of Ger­man­town.
