cub The club

Our handy cards help keep seven cubs straight!

The Washington Post Sunday - - KIDS POST -

It’s been a long wait, but the National Zoo’s seven new lion cubs are finally going out in their yard, where visitors can watch them romp and roll. The cubs were born in two litters: four to Shera on Aug. 31 and three cubs to her sister Nababiep on Sept. 22. (All seven cubs have the same father, 5-year-old Luke). The cubs are growing fast! They weighed only seven to eight pounds at two weeks old, when they were first weighed, but now they range from about 35 to 50 pounds.

The new arrivals go outside at 12:30 p.m. most days. But with so many of the cuddly cubs jumping around the enclosure, how do you know which is which? Well, you can cut out these handy trading cards and take them with you!
