Disrespecting Honest Abe

The Washington Post Sunday - - SUNDAY OPINION -

I find it extremely insulting that two amateur historians would treat a document of great magnitude — a pardon signed by President Abraham Lincoln — with such disrespect [“Hinky date unravels Lincoln lore,” front page, Jan. 25]. To alter the date of a document written by one of the most influential Americans of all time is very wrong. If I were to decide the punishment, it would be something more serious than a lifelong ban from the National Archives.
