Oxford American magazine offers a writing workshop
The Oxford American, a literary magazine that publishes Southern-focused writing, is accepting applications for its first Oxford American Summit for Ambitious Writers.
The summit, a partnership with the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute, will be a five-day workshop for writers to build their literary skills.
The event will be held June 21-26 at Petit Jean Mountain in central Arkansas. Literary professionals will teach daily writing classes and offer manuscript critiques, and guest lecturers will concentrate on short fiction and creative nonfiction.
Applications will be accepted through May 1. Tuition is $1,000; board varies from $550 for double-occupancy to $700 for single rooms. Scholarships are available. For information: summit.oxfordamerican.org.
