Who can en­ter: Kids from 6 to 13 who live in Mary­land, Vir­ginia or Washington, D.C.

How to en­ter: An adult (par­ent, guardian or teacher) must send us your en­try. On each en­try, the adult must in­clude your name, age and home town as well as the name and phone num­ber of the adult sub­mit­ting the en­try. A note from the adult giv­ing per­mis­sion for you to en­ter the con­test is also re­quired.

Where to send your es­say: En­tries can be sent to KidsPost Sports Es­say Con­test, The Washington Post, 1150 15th St. NW, Washington, D.C. 20071. They can also be e-mailed to

kidspost@wash­post.com. (Put “Sports Es­say Con­test” in the sub­ject
