Amer­i­can-US Air­ways merger

Months of ne­go­ti­a­tions ended with an all-stock deal that will cre­ate the world’s largest air car­rier, which will be called Amer­i­can Air­lines and be dom­i­nated by rep­re­sen­ta­tives of Amer­i­can’s bank­rupt par­ent, AMR. It will be one of four gi­ant car­ri­ers that han­dle 86 per­cent of U.S. domestic air travel.
