Langley Park, D.C. killings probed
Prince George’s County police are investigating a slaying in Langley Park, the county’s sixth homicide since Monday.
About 5 a.m. Saturday, officers were called to the 8100 block of Riggs Road on a report of a man down. They found an adult male with stab wounds to his upper body, police said. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.
In separate homicides in the District, two men were shot in the head, according to D.C. police officials. Detectives have charged a man in one of the slayings.
In the first case, police were called about 1 a.m. to the 1900 block of Ninth Street NW, near the Shaw Metro stop. A man police identified as Joseph Hardin, 30, of Alexandria had been shot in the head and was found unconscious and not breathing, officials said.
Nearby, patrol officers immedi- ately apprehended a suspect, Cedric Spicer, 24, of Northwest Washington, said Hugh Carew, a police spokesman. Spicer was charged with first-degree murder, Carew said. Spicer and Hardin apparently had gotten into an altercation either inside or outside a club in the neighborhood, Carew said.
In the second D.C. case, about 3 a.m. Saturday, police were called to investigate the sounds of gunshots in the 300 block of Livingston Terrace SE, near the county line with Prince George’s. A man there, identified as Damon Luke Brown, 49, of Ashburn, had been shot several times, including at least once in the head, according to officials.
Initial police reports said detectives were looking for three possible suspects.
