An­gels: Player in­for­ma­tion coach Rico Brogna re­turned fol­low­ing surgery for tes­tic­u­lar can­cer. Brogna, 45, left the team in early May and had surgery May 13. Also, Los An­ge­les re­called 1B C.J. Cron from Class AAA and op­tioned LHP Edgar Ibarra to Class AAA.

Di­a­mond­backs: Ari­zona ac­ti­vated 3B Jake Lamb from the 15-day dis­abled list and des­ig­nated backup catcher Jor­dan Pacheco for as­sign­ment. Lamb had been side­lined with a left foot in­jury since April 19.

Dodgers: OF Yasiel Puig was ac­ti­vated from the 15day DL af­ter he missed 38 games be­cause of a left ham­string strain. To make room for the Cuban star, Los An­ge­les op­tioned OF Scott Schebler to Class AAA. Puig last played April 24 and was bat­ting .279 with two homers and four RBI when he was hurt. He suf­fered a set­back in early May dur­ing a re­hab as­sign­ment.

Tigers: RHP Justin Ver­lan­der made his sec­ond mi­nor league re­hab start Satur­day night for Class AAA Toledo. He struck out nine with­out a walk, al­low­ing an un­earned run and four hits in 52/ 3 innings. Ver­lan­der has been out all sea­son with a strained right tri­ceps.
