SEEKING FOCUSED AESTHETES
It’s that time of year— the Travel section is now accepting submissions for its 16th annual photo contest.
Youmay submit one photo per person taken since July 1, 2014. If you submit multiple entries, we will consider only the first photo received. Youmay submit only an image you have taken. Submit high-resolution photos (240 dpi JPEG, at five inches wide or high) online at
washingtonpost.com/travelcontest. Include caption information and the date the photo was taken, plus your name, e-mail address and phone number. We will not publish your personal information.
The contest is open to amateur shutterbugs only; professional photographers (i.e., anyone who earns more than 50 percent of his or her annual income from photography) are not eligible to enter.
Please do not submit images that have been heavily manipulated. It is acceptable to adjust an image to achieve color balance that reflects the scene as you observed it. Cropping is also acceptable. The Washington Post reserves the right to disqualify any image it feels has been overly altered.
The deadline for entries is July 24. By entering, you grant The Post a license to use your photos, including the right to edit, publish, distribute and republish them in any form. Photographers retain the rights to their images.
The winners will be determined by Travel section and Presentation Desk staffers. Only U.S. residents are eligible for prizes. The winning photos will be published on or around Aug. 23. Winners will receive gift certificates to a photo retailer.
Employees, officers, directors and representatives of The Post and its affiliates, and those with whom they are domiciled, are not eligible. Void outside the United States and where prohibited by law. Contest subject to all federal, state and local laws. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries. No purchase necessary.
