Blue Jays: Two-time Cy Young Award win­ner Jo­han San­tana has aban­doned his come­back bid. Gen­eral Man­ager Alex An­thopou­los said a toe in­fec­tion was the pri­mary fac­tor in San­tana’s de­ci­sion. He said San­tana plans on pitch­ing win­ter ball.

Chicago and Detroit will play a split dou­ble­header on Sept. 21. Cincinnati and New York will re­sume at 1:10 on Sun­day be­fore their regularly sched­uled game.
