Cubs: Se­lected the con­tract of LHP Clay­ton Richard from Class AAA Iowa and placed C David Ross on the seven-day con­cus­sion dis­abled list. Also se­lected C Tay­lor Tea­gar­den’s con­tract from Iowa, op­tioned RHP Donn Roach to Iowa and des­ig­nated RHP Gon­za­lez Ger­men for as­sign­ment.

Di­a­mond­backs: Ac­ti­vated LHP Pa­trick Corbin (Tommy John surgery) and C Os­car Her­nan­dez from the 60-day dis­abled list. To make room, Ari­zona op­tioned UT Danny Dorn and RHP Matt Stites to Class AAA Reno.

Tigers: Slug­ger Miguel Cabr­era will be side­lined for at least six weeks af­ter Detroit placed the AL bat­ting leader on the dis­abled list for the first time in his ca­reer with a strained calf. To re­place him, the team se­lected the con­tract of 3B Jofry Marte from Class AAA Toledo.

Twins: Re­in­stated RHP Ervin San­tana fol­low­ing an 80-game drug sus­pen­sion and op­tioned RHP Alex Meyer to Class AAA Rochester.

Yan­kees: Closer An­drew Miller, who has not pitched since June 9 be­cause of a strained left fore­arm, threw 30 pitches in a bullpen ses­sion and could soon re­turn.
