One killed in blast at Italian Consulate in Egypt’s capital:
A car bomb ripped into the Italian Consulate in Cairo, killing one person in the most significant attack yet on foreign interests in Egypt as militants target the nation’s security forces. A group calling itself the Islamic State in Egypt asserted responsibility for the blast in a message circulated on social media. Italy said the consulate was closed at the time.
