Rewire: Self-improvement is a noble goal. It’s good to have some backup.

The Washington Post Sunday - - BUSINESS - — Hayley Tsukayama

Self-improvement is always a noble goal, but it’s nice to have some backup. Rewire is a habit-tracking app for whatever to-dos you have on your road map to personal betterment. The app is easy to use: Just set up a habit you want to form, and tell the app how frequently to remind you. The free version of Rewire lets you set up as many as five habits that can ping you every day. To go further, you’ll have to pay $4.99 for its premium service.

The app is simple and elegant. It displays a calendar with pleasing green streaks that mark every day you’ve hit your goals. Red dots break up the streaks if you’ve neglected to do something. You can also skip days if you want to give yourself a little wiggle room. Rewire, of course, can’t keep you from misreporting your habits. But if you’re lying to yourself in an app that only you see, you’ve probably got bigger problems.

Free, for Android devices.
