A thriving business district

The Washington Post Sunday - - OPINION SUNDAY -

The July 15 Metro article “Purple Line highlights 2 counties’ disparities” inaccurately portrayed the Kenilworth Avenue business district. Although it is true that the Giant grocery left, the article neglected to mention that the space was quickly replaced by a better grocery, La Grande. And although you will not find a Brooks Brothers or Tiffany & Co. along the strip, neither will you find vacant storefronts. Kenilworth is a thriving business district with dollar stores, restaurants, gas stations and other stores that serve the community well. And the area is not bereft of public transportation. The College Park Metro station is less than 10 minutes away by car.
