Braves: Activated 1B Freddie Freeman from the 15-day disabled list. Freeman was put on the DL on June 23, retroactive to June 15, with a right wrist contusion.
Cardinals: Added newly acquired reliever Steve Cishek to the roster and sent LHP Tim Cooney to Class AAA. St. Louis got Cishek in a trade with Miami on Friday.
Dodgers: Called up RHP Zach Lee to make his major league debut and optioned LHP Ian Thomas to Class AAA. Lee was the team’s first-round draft pick in 2010.
Indians: All-star 2B Jason Kipnis was not in the lineup Saturday because of a stiff neck.
Pirates: 3B Aramis Ramirez joined the team in time for Saturday’s game against the Nationals. Ramirez was acquired in a trade with Milwaukee on Thursday.
Red Sox: Put 2B Dustin Pedroia on the 15-day DL with the same right hamstring injury that caused him to miss 16 games before the all-star break.
Tigers: RHP Alfredo Simon left Saturday’s game against Boston after throwing a pitch in the seventh inning with what was called “a slight groin injury.”
