1 dead, 2 wounded in H Street shoot­ing

One per­son was fa­tally shot, and two peo­ple were wounded by gun­fire dur­ing a fight on the busy H Street NE cor­ri­dor early Satur­day, D.C. po­lice said.

Two oth­ers were stabbed in sep­a­rate in­ci­dents else­where.

In the shoot­ing, po­lice said that a man was killed and two oth­ers were shot in the 700 block of H Street NE when gun­fire erupted about 1 a.m.

Of­fi­cer Sean Hick­man said that po­lice do not know what prompted the gun­fire and have not iden­ti­fied a sus­pect or sus­pects. Po­lice have not re­leased the name of the per­son who was killed.

On Fri­day, a woman suf­fered a non-fa­tal stab wound near the in­ter­sec­tion of First and Galveston streets SW at 10:37 p.m. Po­lice have not iden­ti­fied a sus­pect, Hick­man said.

At the in­ter­sec­tion of 50th and B streets SE at 12:25 a.m. Satur­day, a man suf­fered a non­fa­tal stab wound. Hick­man said that wit­nesses de­scribed the at­tacker as long-haired with a dark com­plex­ion and dressed in black.

Wit­nesses did not know the sex of the as­sailant.
