Coyote attack in Fairfax City

The Washington Post Sunday - - METRO -

FAIRFAX CITY, Daniels Run Park, Sept. 21. The owners of a dog were walking it off-leash in the evening when one or two coyotes attacked the pet, which had minor wounds on a hind leg. The dog was given a rabies booster shot and was put under a 45-day quarantine. Owners are reminded that the city requires dogs to be leashed when off their property. Also, when a dog is leashed, there is less risk of it being seen as a threat by the local coyote population, according to an animal control release. Among incidents reported by the animal control section of the Fairfax City Police Department.
