Mets: The team said for­mer star Rusty Staub, 71, is re­cov­er­ing in a hos­pi­tal in Ire­land af­ter he suf­fered a heart at­tack dur­ing an over­seas flight. Staub, a six­time all-star who played for five teams be­tween 1963 and 1985, was fly­ing from Ire­land to New York this past week when the in­ci­dent oc­curred. The plane was di­verted back to Ire­land.

Phillies: Rookie 3B Maikel Franco was back in the lineup for the first time since he frac­tured his wrist Aug. 11 when he was hit by a pitch.

Rangers: The team has dis­missed a so­cial media staffer who ac­ci­den­tally tweeted on the team’s main ac­count that Texas football Coach Char­lie Strong should be fired. The tweet “Fire Char­lie. #bye” ap­peared dur­ing the Longhorns’ 50-7 loss to TCU. The staffer was not work­ing Satur­day.

Reds: Gen­eral Man­ager Walt Jock­etty told re­porters that Man­ager Bryan Price would re­turn in 2016. Price has presided over back-to­back los­ing sea­sons.
