Percussionist Sheila E. hosts “Unity: The
Latin Tribute to Michael Jackson,” a tribute to the late King of Pop featuring artists such as Jon Secada, Jennifer Peña and Judith Hill performing new arrangements of several of Jackson’s most popular songs, including “I Want You Back,” “Smooth Criminal” and “Billie Jean.”
MPT, 10-11:30 p.m.
“American Masters” chronicles the life and legacy of “America’s Shakespeare” — Tony Award- and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright August Wilson (1945-2005). The special includes interviews with Wilson’s friends and family, as well as actors Phylicia Rashad, Viola Davis, James Earl Jones, Laurence Fishburne and Charles Dutton.
August Wilson’s life is chronicled in “AmericanMasters.”
