Mets 8, Nationals 7
HIGHEST WIN EXPECTANCY 99 percent
Synopsis: The Nationals’ worst loss of the season came when they couldn’t hold a six-run lead. The seventh inning was a slow bleed: three relievers (Blake Treinen, Felipe Rivero and Drew Storen) combined to allow six runs, three hits and six walks. Only 19 of the 54 pitches thrown that inning were strikes. Storen came in to hold a four-run lead but gave up a bases-clearing double to Yoenis Cespedes and walked three straight batters, including one that plated the go-ahead run.
