Metro seek­ing 5,000 rid­ers for new sur­vey

Metro, still reel­ing from a se­ries of ser­vice dis­rup­tions and fac­ing in­creased fed­eral scru­tiny of its rail op­er­a­tions, an­nounced the launch of a new cus­tomer out­reach ef­fort.

The ef­fort, dubbed “Am­plify,” is billed as the tran­sit agency’s at­tempt to build its first “cus­tomer com­mu­nity.” Metro says the cam­paign will use “a struc­tured en­vi­ron­ment of on­line sur­veys, polls and dis­cus­sion fo­rums” to al­low cus­tomers to share their ex­pe­ri­ences.

Metro is look­ing for about 5,000 par­tic­i­pants in this ini­tial phase.
