The Washington Post Sunday - - METRO - — Lori Aratani

Metro, still reeling from a series of service disruptions and facing increased federal scrutiny of its rail operations, announced the launch of a new customer outreach effort.

The effort, dubbed “Amplify,” is billed as the transit agency’s attempt to build its first “customer community.” Metro says the campaign will use “a structured environment of online surveys, polls and discussion forums” to allow customers to share their experiences.

The link offered by Metro, plify, takes users to a Web page where they are asked to submit their email address.

Metro is looking for about 5,000 participants in this initial phase.
