Kimpela, Hill help Hoyas earn a conference road victory
Jo’el Kimpela ran for 142 yards on 18 carries and a touchdown and Justin Hill added seven catches for 114 yards and a score to help lead Georgetown to a 17-9 victory over Bucknell in Lewisburg. Pa., on Saturday.
The Hoyas quarterback duo of Kyle Nolan and Tim Barnes combined for 156 yards passing with a touchdown, a 40-yard strike from Nolan to Hill late in the second quarter that gave Georgetown (4-4, 2-1 Patriot League) a 10-6 lead at halftime over the Bison (3-4, 0-2).
NORTH CAROLINA A&T 65, HOWARD 14: Tarik Cohen rushed for 137 yards and three touchdowns as the Aggies (6-1, 4-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) routed the Bison in Greensboro, N.C.
Kalen Johnson threw for 163 yards and two touchdowns to lead Howard (0-7, 0-4).
FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL 41, OLD DOMINION 12: Alex McGough threw three touchdowns and ran for another to lead the Golden Panthers (4-4, 2-2 Conference USA) to a win over the Monarchs (3-4, 1-2) in Miami.
NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL 20, MORGAN STATE 17: Nigel Macauley booted a 30-yard field goal after a fumble recovery in the fourth quarter to give the Eagles (4-3, 3-1 MEAC) a win over the Bears (3-4, 3-2) in Durham, N.C.
WILLIAM AND MARY 40, HAMPTON 7: Kendell Anderson, a junior from Westfield, rushed for a career-high 195 yards and a touchdown to lead the Tribe (5-2) over the Pirates (4-4) in Williamsburg.
VMI 28, MERCER 21: Aaron Sanders set a new record for the Keydets (2-6, 1-3 Southern Conference) for catches in a game with 16 in a win over the Bears (3-4, 0-3) in Macon, Ga. VMI broke a 30-game road losing streak.
BETHUNE-COOKMAN 59, NORFOLK STATE 49: In Daytona Beach, Fla., Quentin Williams threw for 374 yards and four touchdowns and ran for another score as the Wildcats (6-2, 4-1 MEAC) pulled away from the Spartans (2-5, 2-2).
BOWIE STATE 23, VIRGINIA UNION 19: Nyme Manns caught two touchdown passes from Nyema Washington as the Bulldogs (7-1, 5-0 CIAA) beat the Panthers (6-2, 4-1) in Bowie. Washington, a freshman who played at Suitland, also ran for a touchdown.
SHEPHERD 35, CONCORD 28: Junior running back Jabre Lolley scored on a three-yard run with 41 seconds remaining to lift the Rams (7-0, 7-0 Mountain East Conference) to a win over the Mountain Lions (4-4) in Athens, W.Va.
EMORY & HENRY 44, CATHOLIC 24: T.J. Tutone threw for 325 yards, but the Cardinals (3-4) fell to the Wasps (5-2) at Cardinal Stadium. Kevin Saxton passed for 320 yards for Emory & Henry.
HUSSON 54, GALLAUDET 8: Austin Hundley ran for 43 yards and a touchdown, but the Bison (0-6) fell to the Eagles (5-1) in their homecoming game at Hotchkiss Field. John Smith ran for 135 yards and three touchdowns for Husson.
