Kim­pela, Hill help Hoyas earn a con­fer­ence road vic­tory

Jo’el Kim­pela ran for 142 yards on 18 car­ries and a touch­down and Justin Hill added seven catches for 114 yards and a score to help lead Ge­orge­town to a 17-9 vic­tory over Buck­nell in Lewis­burg. Pa., on Satur­day.

The Hoyas quar­ter­back duo of Kyle Nolan and Tim Barnes com­bined for 156 yards pass­ing with a touch­down, a 40-yard strike from Nolan to Hill late in the sec­ond quar­ter that gave Ge­orge­town (4-4, 2-1 Pa­triot League) a 10-6 lead at half­time over the Bi­son (3-4, 0-2).

NORTH CAR­OLINA A&T 65, HOWARD 14: Tarik Co­hen rushed for 137 yards and three touch­downs as the Ag­gies (6-1, 4-0 Mid-East­ern Ath­letic Con­fer­ence) routed the Bi­son in Greens­boro, N.C.

Kalen John­son threw for 163 yards and two touch­downs to lead Howard (0-7, 0-4).

FLORIDA IN­TER­NA­TIONAL 41, OLD DO­MIN­ION 12: Alex McGough threw three touch­downs and ran for an­other to lead the Golden Pan­thers (4-4, 2-2 Con­fer­ence USA) to a win over the Mon­archs (3-4, 1-2) in Mi­ami.

NORTH CAR­OLINA CEN­TRAL 20, MOR­GAN STATE 17: Nigel Ma­cauley booted a 30-yard field goal af­ter a fum­ble re­cov­ery in the fourth quar­ter to give the Ea­gles (4-3, 3-1 MEAC) a win over the Bears (3-4, 3-2) in Durham, N.C.

WIL­LIAM AND MARY 40, HAMP­TON 7: Ken­dell An­der­son, a ju­nior from West­field, rushed for a ca­reer-high 195 yards and a touch­down to lead the Tribe (5-2) over the Pi­rates (4-4) in Wil­liams­burg.

VMI 28, MERCER 21: Aaron San­ders set a new record for the Key­dets (2-6, 1-3 South­ern Con­fer­ence) for catches in a game with 16 in a win over the Bears (3-4, 0-3) in Ma­con, Ga. VMI broke a 30-game road los­ing streak.

BETHUNE-COOK­MAN 59, NOR­FOLK STATE 49: In Day­tona Beach, Fla., Quentin Wil­liams threw for 374 yards and four touch­downs and ran for an­other score as the Wild­cats (6-2, 4-1 MEAC) pulled away from the Spar­tans (2-5, 2-2).

BOWIE STATE 23, VIR­GINIA UNION 19: Nyme Manns caught two touch­down passes from Nyema Wash­ing­ton as the Bull­dogs (7-1, 5-0 CIAA) beat the Pan­thers (6-2, 4-1) in Bowie. Wash­ing­ton, a fresh­man who played at Suit­land, also ran for a touch­down.

SHEP­HERD 35, CON­CORD 28: Ju­nior run­ning back Jabre Lol­ley scored on a three-yard run with 41 sec­onds re­main­ing to lift the Rams (7-0, 7-0 Moun­tain East Con­fer­ence) to a win over the Moun­tain Lions (4-4) in Athens, W.Va.

EMORY & HENRY 44, CATHOLIC 24: T.J. Tu­tone threw for 325 yards, but the Car­di­nals (3-4) fell to the Wasps (5-2) at Car­di­nal Sta­dium. Kevin Sax­ton passed for 320 yards for Emory & Henry.

HUS­SON 54, GALLAUDET 8: Austin Hund­ley ran for 43 yards and a touch­down, but the Bi­son (0-6) fell to the Ea­gles (5-1) in their home­com­ing game at Hotchkiss Field. John Smith ran for 135 yards and three touch­downs for Hus­son.
