TD-heavy CAA clash lives up to Game Day

har­rison­burg, va. — Ja­cobi Green ran for 236 yards on 27 car­ries and scored five touch­downs to help lead vis­it­ing Rich­mond to a 59-49 win over un­de­feated James Madi­son, which had been given the rare op­por­tu­nity to host ESPN’s Col­lege Game Day pro­gram as a Foot­ball Cham­pi­onship Sub­di­vi­sion school.

The loss snapped the Dukes’ school-record 14 game reg­u­lar sea­son win­ning streak.

Kyle Lauletta threw for 415 yards and two touch­downs and Brian Brown added 204 yards re­ceiv­ing for Rich­mond (6-1, 4-0 Colo­nial Ath­letic As­so­ci­a­tion).

Bryan Schor’s seven-yard TD pass to Rashard Davis cut the Dukes’ deficit to 52-49 with 4 min­utes 2 sec­onds left. But Rich­mond re­sponded on the en­su­ing pos­ses­sion, driv­ing 69 yards on four plays capped by a Green one-yard scor­ing run, push­ing the lead back to 10.

A James Madi­son fum­ble by Car­don John­son on the fol­low­ing kick­off sealed the game for Rich­mond.

V ad Lee threw for 294 yards, ran for 124, and had five scores for James Madi­son (7-1, 4-1).
