Former governor McDonnell rejoins law firm in state’s Tidewater area
Former Virginia governor Robert F. McDonnell has apparently returned to the practice of law.
The website of Poole Brooke Plumlee, a law firm in the state’s Tidewater area, lists McDonnell as one of the firm’s 13 attorneys. He had practiced with the firm in the past.
Once a rising Republican Party star, McDonnell, 62, was convicted in 2014 of corruption charges, but the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously overturned the conviction last June. He has always maintained that he did nothing illegal.
As late as last September, he said he did not know his plans. He could not be reached for comment Saturday night.
