Cline has dou­ble-dou­ble as Spi­ders turn back vis­it­ing Colo­nials

T.J. Cline scored 26 points and grabbed 13 re­bounds to lead host Rich­mond past Ge­orge Wash­ing­ton, 84-75, on Satur­day.

Cline notched his 10th dou­ble­dou­ble this sea­son af­ter shoot­ing 8 for 12 from the floor, 3 for 5 from three-point range and mak­ing 7 of 8 free throws.

Kh­wan Fore added 24 points and Shawn­dre’ Jones 17 for the Spi­ders (14-9, 8-3 At­lantic 10), who shot 56 per­cent and have won three of their past four.

Tyler Ca­vanaugh had 23 points and 10 re­bounds for the Colo­nials (12-11, 4-6).

Cline scored 16 points and Fore 15 in the first half, when Rich­mond took a 46-34 lead.

VCU 83, ST. BONAVENTURE 77 (OT): Mo Alie-Cox scored 20 points, JeQuan Lewis sank a clutch free throw to force over­time and the Rams slipped past the Bon­nies in Saint Bonaventure, N.Y.

Lead­ing most of the game, Vir­ginia Com­mon­wealth (18-5, 8-2 At­lantic 10) fell be­hind with just half a sec­ond left in reg­u­la­tion when Matt Mob­ley sank a step­back three-pointer to put St. Bonaventure on top, 66-65. But the Bon­nies (14-8, 6-4) were as­sessed a tech­ni­cal foul when their stu­dent sec­tion stormed the court and Lewis hit the en­su­ing shot to force over­time.

In the ex­tra pe­riod, Jonathan Wil­liams made a three-point play to put VCU ahead for good, 71-68.

Justin Till­man added 18 points and 12 re­bounds for the Rams. Mob­ley fin­ished with 34 points and set a St. Bonaventure record with nine three-point­ers.

GE­ORGE MA­SON 95, LA SALLE 75: Se­nior Mar­quise Moore scored a ca­reer-high 28 points as the Pa­tri­ots romped to vic­tory at home.

Jaire Graye added 22 points, for Ge­orge Ma­son (15-8, 5-5 At­lantic 10), which shot 63 per­cent.

Jor­dan Price scored 21 points to lead the Ex­plor­ers (12-9, 6-4).

LEHIGH 70, AMER­I­CAN 55: Kahron Ross scored 19 points, and Tim Kemp­ton added 15 points and 12 re­bounds as the vis­it­ing Moun­tain Hawks (13-10, 7-5 Pa­triot League) topped the Ea­gles.

Mark Gasperini had 16 points and Sa’eed Nel­son added 14 for Amer­i­can (5-18, 2-10).

COL­GATE 55, NAVY 52: In Hamil­ton, N.Y., Jor­dan Swop­shire scored 13 points as the Raiders (8-17, 6-6 Pa­triot League) snapped the Mid­ship­men’s eight-game win­ning streak. Shawn An­der­son led the Mid­ship­men (13-11, 8-4) with 12 points.

FLORIDA A&M 71, HOWARD 62: Ses­mond Wil­liams scored 20 points to lead the Rat­tlers (6-16, 4-5 Mid-Eastern Ath­letic Con­fer­ence) over the Bi­son in Tallahassee. Da­mon Collins and James Mitchell scored 14 points apiece for Howard (5-18, 2-6).

GW women win at La Salle

Lexi Martins scored 22 points, Caira Wash­ing­ton added 21 and Han­nah Schaible had 14 points, 10 re­bounds, five steals and three as­sists as Ge­orge Wash­ing­ton (15-8, 8-3 At­lantic 10) topped La Salle, 79-65, in Philadel­phia.

Amy Grif­fin scored 23 points for the Ex­plor­ers (14-9, 7-4).

AMER­I­CAN 70, LEHIGH 58: Emily Kinneston scored 19 points and Lau­ren Crisler added 18 to pace the Ea­gles (11-11, 8-3 Pa­triot League) in Beth­le­hem, Pa.

Quinci Mann had 15 points for the Moun­tain Hawks (7-15, 2-9).

FLORIDA A&M 55, HOWARD 51: Sha­launda Bur­ney-Robin­son scored 15 points to help the Rat­tlers (7-15, 5-4 MEAC) over the Bi­son in Tallahassee. Erin Blaine had 13 re­bounds and 11 points for Howard (10-10, 6-2).

COL­GATE 69, NAVY 61: Ka­teri Stone scored 15 points to pace the Raiders (8-14, 5-6 Pa­triot League) in An­napo­lis. Sarita Condie had 19 points Navy (16-6, 9-2), which had won nine in a row.
