Magic (23-39) at Wizards (36-24)

The Washington Post Sunday - - PROFESSIONAL BASKETBALL -

Outlook: The Wizards have one more home game before leaving Verizon Center for 10 days. Strange but true: The Magic, next to last in the Eastern Conference standings, leads the regular season series, 2-1. The reason: Those three matchups came in November and early December when the Wizards were still finding themselves. In their most recent meeting Dec. 6, the Magic embarrassed Washington on its home floor with a 124-116 win despite John Wall’s career-high 52 points. The Wizards have since fixed their defense but regressed Friday night by allowing 114 points in a loss to Toronto. To avoid another setback against Orlando, Washington has to regain its defensive character and account for center Nikola Vucevic, who scored 25 points to go along with nine rebounds and three blocks in Orlando’s 110-99 victory over the Miami Heat on Friday night.
