The Washington Post Sunday - - SUNDAY OPINION - Nancy McGuire, Silver Spring

Regarding the March 8 Metro article “Vacations without the nagging emails”:

Finally, some evidence of sanity in the workplace! I had to walk away from a job in which one manager liked to send text messages at 5 a.m. Another manager pestered me for my annual performance goals while I was sitting vigil with my mother during the last days of her life, and, later, she freaked out when she couldn’t get an instant response from me while I was 30,000 feet in the air returning from a business trip. I took a substantial financial hit, but I’m much happier without my 24/7 electronic leash.
