500 bodies found at prison near Mosul:
A pro-government Shiite Iraqi militia said it found a mass grave containing the remains of about 500 people at a prison northwest of Mosul. Iraqi military forces seized control of Badoush prison from the Islamic State this past week. The extremist group took control of Badoush village and the prison complex in June 2014, and Human Rights Watch said the group reportedly executed 600 inmates at the prison on June 10 that year. Survivors told the rights group at the time that most of those executed were Shiites.
