In Pr. Ge­orge’s, man found dead in ve­hi­cle

Po­lice re­spond­ing to a re­port of gun­shots Satur­day morn­ing in Prince Ge­orge’s County found a man’s body in­side a run­ning car.

Of­fi­cers re­spond­ing to a 911 call at 5:20 a.m. found an adult male slumped be­hind the wheel of a sedan that had crashed into a dump­ster in the park­ing lot of an apart­ment com­plex at the 13300 block of Ed­in­burgh Lane in Lau­rel, ac­cord­ing to a Prince Ge­orge’s po­lice spokesman, Cpl. La­mar Robin­son.

The man had suf­fered trauma to the up­per body and was pro­nounced dead at the scene. More de­tails on the vic­tim would not be re­leased un­til the man’s next of kin were no­ti­fied, Robin­son said, adding that po­lice were still seek­ing to de­ter­mine sus­pects and a mo­tive.

“This is an ac­tive in­ves­ti­ga­tion right now,” he said. “In­ves­ti­ga­tors are on scene, comb­ing the area, look­ing for wit­nesses and con­duct­ing in­ter­views.”
