Traditional start of summer not summery

The Washington Post Sunday - - COMMUTER - — Martin Weil

It remained cool and gray here Saturday on the first full day of the Memorial Day weekend.

The weekend is thought of as the start of summer, but Washington’s high temperature of 74 didn’t seem summery.

At Dulles International Airport, the high was 72, even cooler.

But when summer starts in earnest, many will long for readings as low as Saturday’s.
