ROUND HILL, Williams Gap Road, 3500 block, June 27. Participants in a running race were surprised to learn they were being followed by a goat. The Loudoun County Sheriff ’s Department and the Department of Animal Services were contacted. Upon arriving at the site of the race, an animal control officer saw that the goat, which was friendly and easy to handle, had been put into a sheriff’s deputy’s vehicle. The goat was left in the care of a foster family until it was reunited with its owner several days later.
