Thank you, Mr. Trump

The Washington Post Sunday - - SUNDAY OPINION -

The July 18 Metro article “Afghan girls arrive in time for robot meet” reported that an Afghan girls’ robotics team had arrived in the United States to participate in a robotics competition. The girls’ efforts to get visas to enter the country had been met with rejection by the State Department until President Trump intervened on their behalf, which was mentioned almost in passing in paragraph three. I am no fan of Mr. Trump. I believe the numerous criticisms of his policies and behavior are justified and necessary. But I also believe that his action in this case deserves some praise. He enabled these young women to fulfill a dream. The president did the right thing this time. We should recognize him for that. Ross Shaver, Laurel
