Two killed in sep­a­rate shoot­ings in South­east

D.C. po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing two shoot­ings in South­east Wash­ing­ton within a 12-hour pe­riod that left two peo­ple dead.

In the first in­ci­dent, po­lice said a 42-year-old man was found in the 5000 block of H Street about 9:45 p.m. Fri­day. Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, of­fi­cers who ar­rived at the scene found a man with mul­ti­ple gun­shot wounds to his chest. He was un­con­scious and not breath­ing.

The man was taken to a hos­pi­tal, where he was later pro­nounced dead.

He was later iden­ti­fied as An­dre Jah­mal John­son of South­east Wash­ing­ton.

On Satur­day, po­lice said they were called to the 2200 block of Sa­van­nah Ter­race about 8:16 a.m. for a re­port of a shoot­ing.

There they found Shameka Dele­phine Jones, 32, of South­east Wash­ing­ton.

Po­lice said Jones had been shot at a res­i­dence there. She was pro­nounced dead at the scene.

Ron­ald Ran­dolph Jr., 40, also of South­east Wash­ing­ton, was ar­rested and charged with first­de­gree mur­der while armed.

Po­lice did not pro­vide in­for­ma­tion about a pos­si­ble mo­tive in the shoot­ing.
