Two killed in separate shootings in Southeast
D.C. police are investigating two shootings in Southeast Washington within a 12-hour period that left two people dead.
In the first incident, police said a 42-year-old man was found in the 5000 block of H Street about 9:45 p.m. Friday. According to a police report, officers who arrived at the scene found a man with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest. He was unconscious and not breathing.
The man was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
He was later identified as Andre Jahmal Johnson of Southeast Washington.
On Saturday, police said they were called to the 2200 block of Savannah Terrace about 8:16 a.m. for a report of a shooting.
There they found Shameka Delephine Jones, 32, of Southeast Washington.
Police said Jones had been shot at a residence there. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ronald Randolph Jr., 40, also of Southeast Washington, was arrested and charged with firstdegree murder while armed.
Police did not provide information about a possible motive in the shooting.
