Woman shot in March dies from wounds

The Washington Post Sunday - - COMMUTER -

D.C. police say a 42-year-old woman has died of complications from a gunshot wound she received in March, and they are now investigating her death as a homicide.

Police said officers were called to a report of a shooting in the 200 block of Wayne Place SE, where they found a woman with a gunshot wound inside a residence.

She was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

The woman was later identified as Yashika Green of Southeast Washington.

She died Friday, and an autopsy Saturday determined the cause of death to be a result of the shooting.
