Taliban kills 12 at police outpost:
Taliban fighters laid siege to police outposts in southern Helmand province, killing at least 12 police officers, according to an Afghan official. Attaullah Afghan, a member of the Helmand provincial council, said Saturday that members of the Taliban attacked police outposts in Nawa district overnight. He said the death toll was 12 police officers killed and 12 others wounded. In a statement, the Taliban said it captured two security posts in Nawa district, killing 25 local and national police. It was not possible to independently confirm the conflicting reports.
