Google Home assistant to allow multiple users

The Washington Post - - ECONOMY & BUSINESS - — Hayley Tsukayama

Google has just added a key feature to its smart-home hub.

Previously, Google Home was linked only to the account of the person who set it up. Now, it will be able to handle multiple accounts and tell to whom it is speaking, offering personalized answers.

This might also help cut down on unwanted surprises. Google said the new feature makes it so that “only you would be able to shop via Google Home.”

To set up the feature, users have to hop on to the Google Home app, which should have a new option for “multi-user” support on any Google Home connected to your network. Owners of the device can add up to six accounts, a company blog post said.
