Cardinals:

Placed IF Jhonny Per­alta on the 10day DL with an up­per res­pi­ra­tory is­sue and re­called LHP Tyler Lyons from Class AAA Mem­phis.

In­di­ans:

Man­ager Terry Fran­cona said 2B Ja­son Kip­nis, on the DL with right shoul­der in­flam­ma­tion, was on track to re­join the team this week­end in Chicago.

Mets:

Ac­ti­vated closer Jeurys Fa­milia, who had been serv­ing a 15-game sus­pen­sion for do­mes­tic vi­o­lence, from the re­stricted list.

Rangers:

Des­ig­nated rookie RHP Mike Hauschild for as­sign­ment and se­lected the con­tract of RHP An­thony Bass from Class AAA Round Rock.

White Sox OF Ja­cob May, 25, is in his third week as a ma­jor lea­guer and is 0 for 24, still seek­ing his first hit in the big leagues. His grand­fa­ther, Lee May, started out 0 for 14 with the Reds but fin­ished with 354 homers and 2,031 hits when he re­tired in 1982.
