High rate of on-time ar­rivals in Novem­ber

U.S. air­lines in Novem­ber had their high­est on-time ar­rival rates in eight years, the De­part­ment of Trans­porta­tion said Fri­day, set­ting an­other water­mark in a record­break­ing year for safety and per­for­mance.

Novem­ber also matched the record for fewest can­celed do­mes­tic flights, 0.3 per­cent, set in Septem­ber and Novem­ber 2016.

Lead­ing with the high­est on-time ar­rival rates were Delta Air Lines, with 93.7 per­cent of flights ar­riv­ing on time; Spirit Air­lines, with 89.8 per­cent ; and Hawai­ian Air­lines, with 89.3 per­cent.

Those with the low­est on-time ar­rival rates were Alaska Air sub­sidiaries Vir­gin Amer­ica and Alaska Air­lines, and re­gional car­rier Sky West Air­lines.
