Woman stopped at BWI for gun in luggage
Officials in Maryland charged a woman with having a gun in her carry-on luggage at Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.
Sgt. Kirk Perez of the Maryland Transportation Authority Police said the .38-caliber gun was found just before 9 a.m. Wednesday when the woman was going through airport security.
Sgt. Perez said that Jane Hoover, 70, of Glen Burnie, apparently stored the weapon in the bag and forgot it was there. Sgt. Perez said she was arrested but later released and was cooperative with police.
Sgt. Perez said Ms. Hoover will have to return to court to face the charge. The weapon was confiscated.
