45 percent of Americans do not own a mobile phone with scanning capabilities for retail purchases, or for use as an admission ticket.
40 percent of those owning scan-ready phones have never used that technology.
41 percent are “comfortable” with a mobile scan to use as an airline or transportation ticket.
39 percent are comfortable with a mobile app that allows them to make retail purchases.
24 percent are comfortable with a mobile app that stores their credit card information.
16 percent say this technology will replace cash transactions in the next three years; 30 percent say it will “never” replace cash.
5 percent have used their phone for admission to a movie or to buy an airline ticket.
