Malkin reaches mile­stone in Pens’ ninth straight win

PITTS­BURGH | Ev­geni Malkin col­lected three as­sists, reach­ing 500 ca­reer points in the process, lead­ing the Pitts­burgh Pen­guins to a 5-2 win over the Bos­ton Bru­ins on Sun­day.

Malkin has a league-lead­ing 84 points, two more than Tampa Bay’s Steven Stamkos, in the race for the NHL scor­ing cham­pi­onship. The Pen­guins have won nine straight. They had an eight-game win­ning streak from Jan. 13 to 31.
