State records growth in Fe­bru­ary rev­enue

Virginia posted a 17.2 per­cent year-over-year growth in rev­enue col­lec­tions in Fe­bru­ary, Gov. Bob Mcdon­nell said Wed­nes­day — a day af­ter the Bureau of La­bor Sta­tis­tics re­ported a three-year low in the state’s un­em­ploy­ment rate.

Year-to-date rev­enue col­lec­tions have in­creased 5 per­cent, ahead of a re­vised an­nual fore­cast of 4.6 per­cent. The state’s sea­son­ally ad­justed un­em­ploy­ment rate stands at 5.8 per­cent.
